01 Description of Service
Lumen AI is a Catholic spiritual companion app that provides:
- Daily Mass readings and liturgical calendar content
- AI-powered theological guidance grounded in Catholic teaching
- Prayer tools including the Rosary, Liturgy of the Hours, and Lectio Divina
- A parish finder for locating nearby Catholic churches
- Prayer journal and spiritual reflection tools
- Family-friendly faith education content
The App is designed to supplement, not replace, active participation in the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.
02 Subscription & Purchases
Free Tier: Basic features are available at no cost, including daily readings, morning and night prayer, one daily Rosary session, and limited AI chat.
Premium Subscription: Full access to all features is available through auto-renewing subscriptions:
- Monthly: $5.99/month
- Annual: $39.99/year
- Family Annual: $59.99/year (up to 6 family members)
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Prices are subject to change. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change.
03 AI-Powered Responses
The App provides AI-generated theological responses. While we strive for accuracy and faithfulness to Catholic teaching:
- AI responses are for informational and devotional purposes only
- They do not constitute official Church teaching or pastoral counseling
- They should not replace guidance from a priest, spiritual director, or qualified counselor
- The App will not provide advice on personal confession, mental health crises, or urgent matters
- For sacramental needs, always consult your parish priest
We make every effort to ground responses in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture, and the Magisterium, but AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors.
04 User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including prayer journal entries, prayer intentions, and personal notes. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and sync this content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You agree not to use the App to create, store, or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
05 Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and original content, is owned by Berix Holdings LLC and protected by intellectual property laws.
Scripture texts are from the New American Bible, Revised Edition. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is referenced under fair use for educational and devotional purposes. Parish data is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License.
06 Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Parish information (locations, Mass times) will be completely accurate
- AI-generated responses will be free from errors
- The App will meet all your specific requirements
Parish data is crowdsourced and may not reflect current schedules. Always verify Mass times with your parish directly.
07 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Berix Holdings LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
08 Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings.
09 Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
